Traditional recruitment charges employers 15–30% of a candidate's annual salary. That's thousands of pounds — for sending a few emails and making some phone calls. The industry hasn't changed in decades, and candidates bear the cost through lower salaries while employers get burned with fees that don't guarantee a good hire.
The bias problem
Research consistently shows that hiring decisions are influenced by names, photos, and where someone went to school — before the first interview has even happened. ClearCandidate removes all of that. Employers see skills, experience, qualifications, and availability. Nothing that can trigger unconscious bias. The identity reveal only happens once both parties have committed in writing — what we call being "Cleared".
The career mobility problem
There are thousands of people trapped in the wrong career because no employer will take a chance on them without direct sector experience. We built the Genuine Interest feature specifically for this. Career changers can declare what they want to do and why — in plain, honest language — and surface alongside matched candidates for employers who are open to it.
The Apprenticeship track is priced to reflect the opportunity risk — not to penalise ambition. It exists to open doors that would otherwise stay closed.
The flat-fee model
Our pricing is simple and transparent. A base fee per hire type, plus £25 per year of the candidate's relevant experience — capped at 10 years. That's the whole formula. You see the fee before you commit. There are no hidden extras, no retainers, and no commissions. Every hire is treated equally.
